He thanked the chat with a wide smile, the chat which was filled with people commenting every second flooding the entire screen making (Name) shift his focus to answer their questions about himself.

This cute interaction made (Name) feel warm and lovely in the inside, being able to interact with fans who admired him.

You know who wasn't happy? A dark headed male inside a screen wasn't that happy unlike (Name). Why were these people gifting you so low? Most of all why was (Name)'s attention not on him anymore?

He had to pull alot of strings to make his own crit rise up since (Name)'s luck on the Vermilion domain was absolutely dog shit.

It's bugging me...

The inconsistencies and a lack of detail and continuity in S2. S1 was all about the tiniest details.

Don't get me wrong, the animation is gorgeous, BUT --

The underwater scene is where Jinx lets Silco go.

He was RIDDLED with bullets. Yet, not a mark on him?

Why is his damaged eye closed? I thought he didn't have an eyelid. Artistically, I think having his lifeless eyes glazed over would have been more dramatic, considering it's Silco. Nah, he just sinks like Jack to the depths of the Titanic.

How deep IS the Pilt River?? I'm assuming that's where she 'buried' him.

The whole first act is so damn rushed.

No one seems to wonder what happened to Silco? He was only the main person holding the Underground together by the strands of his pomade hair. His death is a BIG deal, yet it's glossed over. No one questioned any of it???

Sevika is just, okay, let's move on like it's another day (granted, Zaunites are probably predisposed to be like that, but that doesn't make for good storytelling if you're not letting the audience in on anything), and chatting it up with Jinx as if they just bonded. I didn't feel that happen. I like that they low-key ripped into him post mortem, because that feels natural but what got them in that room together DOESN'T.

I want to know how these characters FEEL. You got that in spades during S1. But S2 is just expecting you to assume or they would attempt to take the time to use what would be great writing and evolving these characters.

Caitlin is hurting, I get it. But she went full Commando Psycho mode. Girl, everyone has lost parents, siblings, etc... She doesn't even flinch when Vi tells her Enforcers killed BOTH her parents. She's lost a beloved sister... but Cait is affronted when Vi shirks from becoming an Enforcer. Let's just forget what PIltover did to Zaun for generations and to LOADS of people.

Vi? Oh girl. What happened to you?

Jinx is a bit better but not much. I don't buy Silco's death was a zap to the brain to chill her out a bit. She's still my Chaos Queen but unless there is something to explain some shit in the following episodes, I'm going to be really ticked at the lack of care in characterizations with who are the supposed leads in this story.

Well, I did LOL when he woke up and gave Jayce the "bye Felicia" in 2.2 seconds.

We don't get to know what Ekko is thinking since all this shit went down? As far as he knows, Jinx is dead and to learn to she bombed Piltover?

The music videos substituting for the plot are REALLY bugging me. It's lazy writing. The music was used well in S1 to ENHANCE the scene (well, except for giving Imagine Dragons an animated cameo). Here, it's used as exposition, but it's not nearly good enough.

Useless characters and side-characters. Poorly executed plot devices. Uninteresting plot devices and trying to use the S1 parallels for characterizations.

S1 took time to introduce and flesh out these characters, even the side-characters.

We only had Vander for 3 episodes but he was a HUGE character. Marcus, Mylo, Claggor, Benzo, Grayson, Finn.... all were interesting and played an important part.

Jayce continues to be blah. So I'm not bothered.

Ambessa looks to be the new villain but it's not hitting with me. Plus, there's zero foreshadowing on some stuff in her arc that would have been useful last season.

I like Mel but I'm waiting to see what happens with her.

Hermydingding going all Mission Impossible. Just stop. Does he not give two furry fucks about what happened to his fellow councilmembers and Piltover?

I feel like RIot is trying to shove way too much into one season and sacrificing good story-telling to do it.

I miss the details.

So far, I'm really underwhelmed with this season.

So! In order to keep myself from losing my goddamn mind in the aftermath of that G-Witch episode (how are we supposed to wait two weeks for the next episode I swear to fuck), I want to take a second and focus on something this show has done exceptionally well, but that I haven’t really seen talked about at all. Namely, the fact that Suletta is one of the best examples of an overpowered protagonist I’ve ever seen.

And yes, she is canonically overpowered. As long as she has Aerial by her side, she can curb-stomp pretty much every opponent without breaking a sweat. Time and again, she goes up against impossible odds and wipes the floor with them The best duelist at school? Chump. Facing multiple opponents alone and outnumbered? Child’s play. And honestly, I was starting to get annoyed by it around the end of the first season. How are we supposed to believe Suletta’s ever going to be in danger if she’s so ludicrously stronger than everyone else?

And then The Slap happened, and everything turns upside-down.

See, what makes season 1′s cliffhanger ending so goddamn powerful isn’t just the sight of our cheerful bumbling protagonist liquifying a living person into red paste in front of her horrified fiance. It’s not just the realization of how deep Prospera’s manipulation has twisted Suletta’s sense of identity. No, the real secret behind The Slap’s brilliance is that it retroactively makes every single moment of Overpowered Suletta fucking terrifying. Suddenly, we realize that her overwhelming strength in battle is a direct result of Prospera’s influence, raising her to be the perfect pawn in her little scheme. The reason she’s able to knock the socks off every single opponent she faces isn’t just Latent Protag Syndrome; it’s because her mother crafted her into a relentless warrior with the strength to destroy any obstacle in the path to her revenge. Suletta’s strength in battle isn’t just overwhelming; it’s dangerous, to herself and everyone around her. And the second she has to unleash that strength in a situation more serious than a no-casualties school sporting match, it becomes instantly, horrifyingly clear that she is in no way ready to grapple with the great responsibility that comes with such great power.

In other words, what first seemed like just a case of another anime protagonist winning every fight because reasons turns on its head and makes that overpowered nature a source of fear, both for the audience and for Miorine. So instead of ending up a boring tension-killer where we’re never afraid for Suletta’s safety, the fact that she’s capable of such force becomes the most critical source of tension and conflict driving her and Miorine’s story in the second season. Suletta being so overpowered is an explicit character flaw, at least as long as Prospera’s claws are in her. Because just because she can punch away any physical threat in her path doesn’t mean she’s not vulnerable in countless other areas. She may be the strongest in a fight, but she has nowhere near the strength of character to deal with the political schemes and emotional burdens that come about as a result of that strength. All that skill on the battlefield doesn’t mean shit when you can’t see how that skill is being manipulated for dark ends, or causing you to take on stress and trauma you have no healthy way of coping with. Suletta can smash her way to victory in any fight, and yet she’s the most vulnerable, least protected person in the entire cast, in no small part thanks to the forces that made her so strong in the first place.

There’s a reason characters like Saitama from One Punch Man and Mob from Mob Psycho 100 are so beloved, despite being so overpowered. ONE knows that in order to make an overpowered character interesting, you need to give them struggles beyond the scope of their powers to fix. Saitama can punch a mountain in half, but he can’t punch his way out of existential ennui; that’s just as much of a struggle for him as any normal person. Mob’s psychic powers can’t solve his emotional turmoil or provide him the perfect path toward maturity; he has to figure that out himself. They are overwhelmingly strong in fights, but the primary conflict of their stories has very little to do with those fights and everything to do with their growth as people. They’re stories about how even being the strongest person alive doesn’t protect you from the challenges of life that everyone on this planet faces, and their journeys to self-actualization are enormously compelling as a result. No one remembers the overpowered exploits of Isekai Harem Protagonist du jour; everyone remembers watching Saitama and Mob slowly find their way forward in life, one simple step at a time.

Suletta, in my eyes, is very much in the same vein. Like Saitama and Mob and all the best overpowered protagonists, her writing understands that being incredibly skilled in one area doesn’t mean you can’t be challenged in others- and in Mob’s case especially, how that incredible skill can actually be the biggest obstacle for the challenge you actually need to overcome. Suletta’s skill in battle is made compelling by her lack of that same skill in other areas, and the ultimate conflict of Gundam Witch is a conflict she cannot punch her way out of. If she’s going to survive this chaos and live happily every after with Miorine, she will need to struggle to overcome her years of conditioning and emotional uncertainty. She will need to struggle just as Mob struggled, just as Saitama struggled, not just to learn the skills she hasn’t developed yet, but to push back against the influence that resulted in her being so freakishly strong in the first place. Suletta is an overpowered protagonist who’s overpowered nature is, itself, the greatest challenge she will have to overcome in order to truly save herself and the people she loves. And I think that’s really damn neat.

I am tired of Sydney being a “knight in shining armor” for these immature men

The trailer of s3 made me reflect on a big problem with the show for me so far. The use of Sydney on the plot overall and in the character arcs of men. This is a rant, if you happen to be on the side of the fandom that think these men are perfect and Syd is valued as their support, feel free to scroll.

Part 1: the woman

Sydney Adamu is insecure on her leader/social skills and her creative habilities. That, and her kindness, is what makes the audience root for her. She is releatable but most important she is real, she has taken it impulse by impulse, creating on the fly ways to succeed in a industry not very welcoming to people with her personality (or that look like her). All of that makes sense in a story of an underdog.

But yet, the show has normalized at this point how much shit she takes from a group of really emotionally immature people. And how much they expect her to figure it out answers to the problems that they themselves cause.

Thinking about it like an animal getting into a new pack without the capacity to defend herself from any attack. The shitshow she tolerated in s1 has never been properly addressed and it seems like the worst storm is yet to come in s3. She fixed the logistics of the beef and implemented a hierarchy. Things that Carmy was incapable of doing due to his story with the staff and his own mental turmoil. In s2, she was the only professional chef actively making decisions and efforts in the future of the restaurant. Carmy even reprimanded her for not making the decisions he was supposed to do. And she reminded him “you wanted the final say, this is on you)

Syd is not helpless in any way, but she has applied kindness and fairness most of the time to this point, and I wonder if this time that is gonna cut it. I am mostly tired to get her back to that scenario again. If anything, the part that got me the most excited of Richie’s redemption is how she could actually rely on him. And then it came the trailer.

Part 2: the men

The part that got my blood boiling in the trailer is the response “Show me a functional one” from Richie and Carmy.

We are in season 3, and with all the growth and all those balls, these men seem to expect her to fix an issue, wich core is actually their own emotional immaturity. I am sick of it. “Mother, maid, therapist”🎶

She must deal with Carmy’s recklessness and the fight between him and Richie. A very green new staff and a unqualified old staff mostly. All of that creates the dysfunctionality in question, and I wonder where her character will go to resolve it. The restaurant had a shaky base (particularly on front house staff and line cooks) and now Carmy is getting on everyone’s nerves. Putting fire to an already unstable chemical.

Part 3: Heroine’s Journey

It would take a pro to resolve all of this shit, and the people involved (and responsible for the problem) turn to this young, inexperienced woman for guidance and answers because the only person in the kitchen with actual industry experience is trapped in his own destroying tendencies.

That is not only the underdog story that is human vs forces of nature, another common plot structure. Forces of nature incarnated in unstable men and our hero is a woman. That is so fucked up and yet so real. That is the value I give to this scenario.

I really don't think that, besides Tina and Nat, there is a single member if that kitchen aware of how much Syd was alone last season picking Carmy’s slack. And even they were barely able to help her. Everybody else was to happy for Carmy loosing his virginity apparently. All this scenario could very well repeat itself this season on how much they are insisting on Claire and Carmy getting back together.

I know the show is about leaving toxic cycles and the people who can help you get better. Sydney is supposed to be made from a different matter than the Bearzattos because otherwise, the toxicity will continue. I just wish she could coldly let them know how much of a pest they can be sometimes. And not be treated as unfair because she left her “role” in creating a new system. Anger is boundarie setting emotion and it can be very constructive, and expressed without the chaos of the Bearzattos. She did this in s1 and if done again I think this time the general audience (except the racist/misogynistic obviously) will understand that this tough love is necessary as well.

Let's not normalize (in this show) women taking shit to be good women and a reward for seeing the potential of men. It is not like society is not doing that for us already.

Sydney is not a punching bag, and she knows it, she definitely will stand her ground this season, wich can be very encouraging to young woman entering a workforce that is not designed to support them. I think she will go to Ember to work closely with Chef Terry (Olivia Coleman) to get knowledge of how women can shape this toxic places. It will be her version of forks. The toxicity may escalate to a turning point for her. She tolerated (and transformed) s1 and s2, we know what is in her heart. The point will definitely come, because this is the time for evolving or dying, for everyone.

But again, I need these men (besides you, Marcus, you are going to be her rock) to start taking responsibility for the shit they are fucking up. That would be nice. I am sure there will be moments of it since this growth is literally the show's theme. I am just kind of tired of the “Mother, maid, therapist🎶” undertone of it all. It could be applied to Nat and Tina as well.

Can we talk about how both Preston Garvey and Wyll Ravengard are pretty much the characters that get treated the worst by their respective fandom? (Also Ik I'm being incredibly Biased here because I love both of them dearly)

Cuz like both tend to be called incredibly bland and are often times just overlooked. While both of them are incredibly complex character (as complex as a bethesda character can get in Preston's case)

Preston is consitently the butt of the same boring ass Joke. "hAhA aNoThEr SeTtLeMeNt NeEdS yOuR hElP, hAhA sO FuNnY" and yes I get it the line is incredibly repetitive, but every characters' dialouge gets repetitive with time as well. The reason this line is so repetitive is that Preston is pretty much the only Questgiver for the Minutemen for a huge part of the game, while other factions like the Railroad (and I assume the BoS) have multiple characters that give you quests. Lorewise Preston being the only quest giver for the minutemen makes sense due to him being like one of the few survivors and all (and the other characters wouldn't really make sense as quest givers, well maybe sturges but he's busy hammering the walls).

Preston has so much interesting lore if you take the time to listen to him, He feels so much survivor's guilt about what happened in Quincy. HE BELIVES HE DESERVES DEATH FOR GODS SAKE.

And I'm still so upset about how he's treated by the fandom, although I do mainly blame bethesda's lazy ass writing. (Also let's not forget that X6-88 is often completely ignored)

Now to Wyll, the love of my life, my babygirl. Wyll was extremly neglected by Larian's writing with him only having about 8.5h of content according to this reddit post. which probably has a lot to do with the fact that he was rewritten very close to release. Wyll is not boring, Wyll is not bland, Larian just didn't want to do him justice compared to other characters (Cough Cough Astarion Cough Cough 12.75h of Content Cough Cough) due to the response to him in EA being low. And let's not forget that up until Patch 7 his dialouge was bugged (apparently), it shouldn't have taken this long to fix it, but Larian was probably busy Animating the 1000000th Astarion cutscene (And don't even get me started on the racist white guy). Wyll didn't even get his own outfit like the rest of the Party (well Lae'zel is wearing Typical gith armor but you rarely encounter them, I recall like 3 or 4 times you actually wearing that armor) Wyll got the basic ass Warlock outfit, and yes it might make sense if you put it as "Well Wyll doesn't have anything anymore, he probably bought or got what was quickly available" well yes but then Astarion should wear some rags or something or at least more plain clothes cuz Cazador most likely would not pay for his clothes to get fixed or get fancy clothes for him, it was just Larian neglecting Wyll again.

And just like Preston Wyll is an incredibly complex character if you take your time to get to know him. His pact causes him pain (mostly mentally n all that) it got him disowned yet he doesn't regret taking it. Wyll was a menace of a Child, almost accidentally robbing a bank, reading smut when he was too young to read such content and then during the game reciting that shit in public. He is incredibly corny and he is proud of that and he fucking fangirls over Minsc. Wyll doesn't even hate his father for disowning him (I'm not saying Wyll should hate or forgive his father, I believe their relationship is incredibly complex), he only speaks rather fondly of him. (also if I see one more person stating Wyll is a Tiefling/Modding Wyll to look like a tiefling I wyll throw hands, he is not a tiefling he is touched by the hells. Same goes for the damn bloodstone eye mod, it's not supposed to be a bloodstone bbg lies about it). Wyll has been under Mizora's close watch for 7 years of course he wants to take romance slow.

Unfortunatley in both offical art and fanwork Wyll tends to be replaced by Halsin or straight up forgotten and in the offical art he does appear in he is often just glued to Mizora (yes I get that a Warlock pact is Binding blah blah) like in the offical art book where every character's alternate design is shown, just not Wyll instead it's Mizora. And I hate it, yes someone may percieve him as bland/boring when they just put him in camp and just don't interact with him, hell if that was a reason to call a character boring I could call Astarion boring but I'm not.

I understand that "good" characters might not be everyone's cup of tea but holy fuck it sucks so much that all the characters I like are just ignored.

The main difference between Preston Garvey and Wyll is that Prestion is the butt of a lame joke and at least is somewhat acknowledged within the fandom, while Wyll just tends to fall behind (Just like X6-88). Both of them are overshadowed by other characters in the game. Preston, Wyll and X6-88 are all pocs and all of them are overshadowed by/less popular than white/white read characters. it's honestly exhausting to see, especially for Baldur's Gate 3, when I see that Larian does indeed respond to fan complains in their content ("Fixing" Tav's expressions for Abuser Astarion kisses...dark romance has ruined fandom).

There is nothing much there can be done about Preston's lazy writing since fallout 4 is pretty much ancient by now (it's like 8 years old so almost a decade). But Baldur's Gate 3 has only turned one (1) year old recently and modern games get consistently updated, it would not be hard for Larian to just add more content for the characters that have less content and make the amount of content each character has kind of equal, hell I would write them the Wyll content for fucking free.

This casual racsim in fandom spaces, whether it's intended or not, is scary to see especially with the curent rise of right wing extremism in western countries (I'm mainly talking about germany here since that's what I can talk about, actually being from such a right wing extremist state).

Guys I am actually going insane. Like. I was immersed into this update that I finished the entire quest in like 5 hours. I need to get this shit out of my system.

Okay, on a serious note, I love how we were introduced to Moze as this cold hearted, doesn’t care for anyone kind of guy but he actually cares for Feixiao and Jiaoqiu and DOES think of them as friends. I also find the gentleness explored in his mannerisms, like his sweeping in owlbert’s show or the ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE way he accidentally falls asleep standing up in his idle. I think it gives him a different kind of subtle depth and I love it so much. I adore Moze and Jiaoqiu as a duo no matter if it is a platonic or romantic duo.

2. Traumatic BSD flashbacks

I already said this once when the animation was released but this kind of thinking and this story remind me so much of Yosano in the great war from bungo stray dogs. And it always hits the right spots. He witnessed all the people he nursed back to health go out there to get killed again. How many times would this happen? How many more would he heal just for them to go back out again? Jiaoqiu and Yosano are both unique perspectives to how war impacts the frontline warriors. We all always think about the soldiers and their pain and anguish but never of those who have to heal and nurse them only for them to enter battle once more. They are just prolonging the soldiers’ deaths. This is what I like about the Honkai universe, they are never afraid to go into harsh and rough topics like power dynamics, politics and slavery (discussed later).

THE JIAOQIU TORTURE WE GOT IN THIS QUEST WAS INSANE LIKE???????? What did my guy do broTT

This scene is the climax of Jiaoqiu’s character. His loyalty to Feixiao and the Yaoqing. His poison was the key to defeating Hoolay. And he was ready to sacrifice his life for it. Jiaoqiu has seen enough death and according to him, has sent many people to their deaths. He does not see value in his life, yet, he continued to work for Feixiao, to find a cure for an incurable condition. Moon rage is in her genes but still, he does not give up. He rescued Feixiao when she was just a child and his immense loyalty to her is so heartbreaking. I honestly thought he died, but the actual outcome? Bawled. If you look closer, you can see the trail of blood running down his eyes. Eating poison is no small feat. Jiaoqiu is brave and he is determined that if he were to end his life, it would be while conquering the enemy.

I also absolutely LOVE Jiaoqiu’s voice actor and how versatile his voice is. The tremor in his voice in the 2.4 quest? His voice in the final confrontation against Hollay? There is so much emotion packed into every word he says, I am now a big fan of him.

4. "I fight, so that i never have to see another shooting star again."

We know what Lan’s Lux arrow does. It is just destruction. It does not differentiate between friend or foe, just leaves a trail of blood in its wake. Ironically, it resembles a shooting star, something which fulfils wishes. But how Yukong lost Caiyi in Yukong’s story quest, and how Feixiao lost all her friends, there is no salvation. It is as Hoolay says here:

The Gods, that is, the aeons, neither bleed nor feel. THEY only have one attribute, the Path the preside over.  THEY hold no meaning of life. I think it is brilliantly contradicted when Feixiao shoots her arrow to kill the borisin near Aurum Alley. It looks like a Lux arrow; it feels like one. But only the borisin lay dead afterwards, Moze and the Trailblazer are fully unharmed. Her arrow can make out the difference between the enemy and the ally. This is where we see that her sentence had actually changed; she did not want to see another shooting star kill her loved ones again.

(Also the quick flash of Lan when THEY gazed upon her??? It was so exhilarating to see jebdjsbsja I love these cinematics)

5. The power dynamics between the foxians and borisin and slavery

We know star rail never shied away from topics like slavery, Aventurine’s backstory is proof of that. But that is just one aspect of a bigger issue. What the foxians went through could be said to be the generational and racial aspect of it, because the foxians and borisin are descended from the same ancestors. The so-called racial superiority comes from the alterations made to the physique after the whole abundance thing. The wolves gained the blessing of abundance to be able to control the moon rage (which is like mara to the xianzhou natives, iirc) but the regular foxians could not. Yet with power, comes corruption. This led to them thinking that they are now the superior race. The wolves became the denziens of abundance, the borisin. They enslaved the “inferior” foxians and cause havoc, until the xianzhou intervened. But we see that this problem has not been solved yet since feixiao became a general during the war with the borisin. The xianzhou helped many foxians escape to the yaoqing and other ships, but some could not escape. Like Feixiao, or more accurately, Saran. These foxians are still at risk of moon rage since the blood of Duran’s lineage runs thick through their veins. But they do not have the abundance’s blessing and are hence considered “lowly beasts”. This is generational slavery.

Such a racial aspect is also seen in the real world against south Asians, east Asians, black people and indigenous tribes from different countries. We sometimes do it unknowingly, too. But when we are faced with this as an outsider, like in a game, we come to see the true impact of it and how deep it goes.

Devil May Cry 2. The pimple-faced teenager of the series, widely regarded as the worst game in the franchise.

While yes i agree with this viewpoint to some degree, and i think all the jokes about it being the worst one are funny... i honestly dont think the game is THAT bad. In fact, i think people give it too much shit.

Ill start out by saying this: no, the game isnt amazing. Its under-developed, rushed, and in no way is it up to the same standard as the other 4 games. Im not saying its this perfect game, but its not as horrible as some make it out to be.

Ive played through the game on the original PS2 version and the remastered version, and although im yet to complete Lucia's campaign, i can confidently say the game is mediocre at worst really.

First the gameplay: Boring? Yes. Definitely. Do you like standing in one place and shooting everything for 15 minutes untill it drops dead? This is the game for you. But you dont have to do that, it just happens to be the easiest option because the controls are so jank. I spent (some) time myself learning the combos, turns out it depends on the way you angle the joystick, and once you get the hang of it, its not that difficult to S rank combat encounters at all. Its annoying, but not impossible, and the combos can honestly look pretty cool imo.

The movement is also another thing, the dodge animation takes way too long to perform but i do like the forward dash. Its a nice alternative to using stinger as a makeshift movement dash, i wish they kept it for furture versions of Dante. (Yes i know theres the trickster dash, but he doesn't do a flip)

I also really love the flying mechanic with aerial heart, and the different kinds of core thingies you could combine as a whole. A unique feature that kinda got combined into other things in Dante's design.

A few of the bosses, if they had been fleshed out and maybe balanced a bit better, could've been just amazing too. Furiataurus for example. One boss i feel was done well though was The Despair Embodied, and although you can just stand around and shoot it to death like everything else, you do actually have to put effort in to not get hit and die. (Trismalga is also kinda in that boat too, a well(ish) done fight you actually have to put effort into, but i personally didn't like it.)

Next, level design: You have to admit they did some cool things with the level design. *some*. The whole "grungy city" vibe is something i found very interesting, and the trippy purple iteration of lower town was, while infuriating to navigate thanks to the camera and graphics (esp on the ps2 version), was actually quite neat. I also really liked the clock tower in Lucia's campaign.

And also, the music. Can i just say, i think dmc 2's soundtrack is my favorite one out of all 5 games. The ambient background tracks are almost dreamy, especially Lucia's ones, the boss themes honestly go hard and the piano track that's repeated throughout the whole soundtrack just sounds good. If you take anything away from this post, its that you should listen to the soundtrack. (I reccomend the tracks "Unholy Relics", "Cry for the Moon", and "Shoot the Works")

The character designs are another thing i think they did well in this game. In my humble opinion, Dante's dmc 2 style is the best looking one in the whole series. Lucia also looks quite cool, her devil trigger form especially.

The characters themselves, Dante especially, need work, but might i remind you the developers were rushed when making this game. They didn't have enough time to do everything they wanted to do, 6 months before the game was supposed to release they didn't even have it in working condition. It was only thanks to Itsuno stepping in as the director that we got this game in the first place, and all he could do was salvage what the team had already created and get it in a releasable state before launch.

If only they had a bit more time (and maybe resources), dmc 2 couldve been quite the cool game. Though, on that note, if it werent for dmc 2's catastrophic faliure and Itsuno's prompt pestering for a sequel so the franchise didn't die outright, we wouldn't have gotten dmc 3. Though i think Capcom would've made a 3rd game regardless of the scenario.

All in all, i dont think dmc 2 is that horrible of a game. If you have the remaster collection, or even the original PS2 version, at least try it. Give it a go, play through the first few missions and kill one or two of the bosses.

Don't take it seriously, just have fun and enjoy the game in all its janky half-finished glory. If you look at dmc 2 that way, i think you'll enjoy it a whole lot more.

Or dont. Yknow, its your choice.

The other night I went on a tangent to my friends about the music in Murder Drones and how it’s hard to compare the albums since they are each amazing in their own ways. Despite this, my friend insisted that I compare them, so I did. After writing everything out, she said I should post it so that’s what’s happening!

Welcome to an informal essay about the music in Murder Drones

In this essay, I will be going over the 4 albums created by A.J Dispirito and the strengths within each album. This essay is to show that the music between the albums is unable to be compared to one another as they are all astounding and work wonders for the atmosphere of the overall show.

Feel free to disagree with me and let me know your thoughts!

Murder Drones Pilot Mini-Album

The pilots album could be considered the weakest of the 4. It doesn’t have that many tracks that are reused throughout the other episodes. BUT- it is very strong as it has “Murder Brings” which is the trailer song for the pilot and it’s kind of a banger. I find it not as good as “Eternal Dream” “BITE ME” and “FOREVER” but it’s still super fucking good. In the first album we also have “Click”, “Gin Rummy”, “UZI THE DRONE KILLER” and “Goth Girl Anime Lover VS Wholesome Killer Boy” which are all very good songs that get you hyped for fight scenes. There are a few more mellow songs in the pilot’s album, making it not stand out as much. Despite that, it is also the very album that brought us the iconic Murder Drones theme music, which has been a staple in all future songs throughout the series. It’s not looked at as much as the other albums but it worked for the pilot and that’s all it really needed to do. It was good and is still good.

Murder Drones Volume 1

Next is the first official MD album. Once again, it can be overlooked like the pilots soundtrack since it doesn’t have super gut punchy, kick assy music. HOWEVER- it has a very eerie tone to it since it’s going over the second episode (with the Eldritch J monster) and it takes place in Dolls Room which is scary as fuck. It also gives us a few really good adrenaline pumping songs like “Aaaaahhh”. The song Bathtub” is in this album and it is spooky and intense which I love! Classic horror vibes. We also get “Uuugghhh” in this album which is possibly one of my favourites since it keeps going from energetic to spooky and I find that really funny for some reason (also the scenes this song was used for is hilarious). “Get Prommed” and “The Knife Dance” are INCREDIBLY ICONIC and have that addicting saxophone in it along with lots of grove. I really like “Spooky Flashback? oooooo” since it gives us a first look at the Elliot Manor and what kind of music we will be hearing in the 5th episode. Mind you, it’s not as good as the songs in the 5th episode but for foreshadowing, I think it works beautifully as it just gives us a small idea of what the manor was like for N, V and J. I think the first album is often overlooked but just like the pilot album, it has some wicked shit in it that you can’t ignore.

Murder Drones Volume 2

The second album I think might be my favourite because of the music used for the Elliot Manor flashbacks. There’s something so saddening and cold yet cheerful about them that I just cant shake and I adore them. It’s most definitely the soft piano that does it for me. Im a whore for soft piano music. We also have “Falling…For You??”, “Gentle” and “huggie wuggies” which PULL on my heart strings. The mellow music in this album is so well done and make me weep like a small child. DONT GET ME STARTED ON ETERNAL DREAM- I could write an entirely different essay just on that song alone and its relation to V’s entire character, however, I’m pretty sure that has already been done by many more qualified people than myself so you may go read those.

Then we’ve got the scary music in this album, which is a HUGE leap forward compared to the pilots album and the first album. Songs like “Solver Uzi”, “Heh, Nothing Personal Kid”, “SENTINEL 000D”, “…wow…ok THATS Pretty Dark” “literally just noise (your favourite)” and “Earth” are all phenomenal songs that give the spooks and scares. They are eerie and are drenched in anticipation for what is going to happen next. They give so much emphasis on the danger that these characters are in and can make you feel the same way. They freak you out and that is their job. Personal bias to the second album but it is phenomenal. I feel like people might not listen to the softer music in it which I totally understand, but I love it a lot.

Murder Drones Volume 3

And finally, we have the third album.

To start off, this shit goes incredibly hard with its scary stuff. They injected some sort of chemical into this album. I think it might be the chimes and whispers and church music. They added more eerie sounds in this album and I LOVE IT so much. The album starts STRONG with “When you forget to pray” which is so scary and gross and eerie, I love her. It fit the church scene so well and the song itself is disgustingly horrendous with its churchy vibes yet it makes them sound anything but holy. “Callback Ping”, “Absolute Solver” “…Hey guys, just wanted to say what’s up” and “……run” are TERRIFYING! nothing more can be said about those other than that. They scare the shit out of me and I can’t deal with that. Im pretty sure there is screaming in these ones as well, so that adds to the charm of spook. “Die Mad” is a bit spooky but it GOES SO HARD. UNREASONABLY HARD. But then it gets all soft and sad and makes me weep.

Speaking of weeping; “Hang Out?” and “Falling With You” MAKE ME WANNA KILL MYSELF. YHEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH AAGUUUUUGHHHH-

And finally, the kick ass shit in this album is probably what defines it from the others. Each album has eeriness to them or a few songs that get you pumped; but this album? We’ve got “Eternal DESTROYER” 3 different versions of “BITE ME”, “…Uzi and N: The Drone Killers”, and “YOU’RE FREAKIN’ GROUNDED” which all are such good fighting songs and get you hyped up. They are the songs that get YOU wanting to kick ass, and I love it.

Like the others, there is a few mellow songs in this album, but not a ton. “FOREVER”, “ur aight”, and “haha yea dude, that’s sick” are all very good songs since they take place during scenes of walking or talking, not really any big action. Despite that they are all chillish and are incredibly catchy, they all still carry that eerie feeling that something isn’t right and that’s perfect for the series since we continuously know that something isn’t right.

In conclusion, all 4 of the albums created for the Murder Drones series are incredible in different ways. They each have strengths as well as songs that stand out. I wouldn’t say that one is better than the other since they all have songs that fit the episodes that they premiered in. A.J Dispirito has been very consistent with the quality of their music produced throughout the shows run time, keeping a balance of action, eerie, sweet and scary. I think that music for this series may be difficult to make since there’s so many jumps from goofy to scary to cute and so on. You can definitely see Dispirito’s improvment in their work throughout the series, but every song they’ve created has been excellent.

My thoughts on JJBA OVER HEAVEN

So first of all -

it seems my JJBA binge is not over yet, I am still on the desert island and instead of their being water sources large enough to get waterboarded in like last time, I am instead finding small refreshing puddles.

I read the novel and- (spoilers under cut)

although it might be dubiously canon, I like it a lot that I think it should be considered so, and in my mind overrides any inconsistencies that the anime/manga may bring up. The timeline seems fucked either way you look at it, fittingly for this story I guess

I liked how it showed the evolution of his idea of ‘heaven’ and how it slowly became what Pucci defined it as. I like how it gives depth without straying from Dio’s insane villainy. and the mommy issues were certainly something as well It actually made me appreciate part 1

I have realised this while I was still watching the anime, but the novel confirms it; all the villains either represent a part of Dio, the big bad

Kars - Dio’s desire to constantly transcend his current state, humanity and whatnot, keep moving up the power scale

Kira - Dio’s idea that all humans live for ‘peace of mind’, as he puts it for himself- ‘preparedness’, knowing that the future will be fine

Diavolo - Dio’s resolve to move only forward, only towards the future

I do love how for the two Stand users, their Stands complement their motives, Kira creating time loops to ensure nothing bad happens to him, and Diavolo ‘skipping time’ to move into and foresee the future. Kira is more ‘stuck in the past’ and Diavolo is heading for the future

Dio is in the present, he merely stops time for a few seconds. It sets up the time manipulation premise in the simplest way and also gives him the further mindfuckery he needs to arrive at his conclusion

And then Pucci, the final villain, is Dio’s resolve to get to ‘heaven’, the culmination of the mindfuckery- their conclusion of it being that the definition of ‘heaven’ is obtaining peace by knowing all of the future and all of fate, and living it out in preparedness.

Their Stands are also opposite of one another, Dio stops time for a brief moment and Pucci accelerates it for all of eternity. Pucci is the kind of fucking guy to spoil the entire movie before watching it

I do love how they define fate as ‘gravity between people', and connect that to the theory of relativity (i’m always a sucker for this kind of shit) combining scientific theory with ideas of fate through a religious character is also just a cherry on top, I love it

THAT and how his Stand Whitesnake, whose powers are to extract ‘souls’ (or so to speak), is covered in the abbreviation of DNA compounds. Also fun fact whitesnake’s voice is based off of patrick star from spongebob

Overall, it was interesting to read how Dio became obsessed with the concept of fate, Ironically, were JJBA to be written with more foresight (preparedness even), then maybe Dio’s thoughts could’ve been more implemented into the story. Don’t get me wrong, he should still be his insane-cartoonishly-evil self at the same time, I love him for that. However, this novel was not written by the OG author, so who knows how canon it even is.

Another thing of note: Dio and Pucci seem to arrive at their idea of ‘heaven’ independently (you could argue Dio kind of began it by suggesting the idea of ‘gravity’ to him), but it was Pucci’s circumstances that ultimately led to it. Dio, at least for a few pages, believes that what one is born into decides everything. And they were born into vastly different situations. Dio talks a lot about his hate of nobles and ‘inheritors’ and hated both his biological and adoptive family.

Pucci is from an influential wealthy family and loved them so. Dio’s sibling was a miscarriage and Pucci’s presumed-dead-twin was actually alive. But both lived circumstances that arrived to a shared idea of ‘heaven’. Dio knows at least the deaths in Pucci’s life, I wonder if he knows his background and if knowing it would challenge or confirm his idea of fate.

I can’t help but wonder how Pucci felt reading the diary through Jotaro’s memories. Also wonder if Pucci saw how Dio died through none other than Jotaro’s memories as well.

Also i don’t know why, this is probably not what is implied cuz it wouldn’t fit characterwise(unless?) but……… did Pucci take Dio’s memory of showing him The World????? Why is it written this way and if so then adhsagdah??

Anyways if you ask me if i’m team ‘ora-ora’ or team ‘muda-muda’ its the latter for me baby

Well, its been 3 years. 3 long years since you last seen or heard from him.

Ever since Sae came back from Spain, Rin changed. Rin had always been so sweet, kind, and shy around you.

But on that day, he acted so cold towards you, staring down at you as if you were a mere pest.

Those same eyes that would show kindness and careness, were now gone—vanished.

Everytime he would look or at least spare a glance in your direction, it would always be filled with carelessness, emptiness, and even a hint of annoyance.

It pained you deeply that he would now perceive you as some ‘bug’.

You tried talking to him, asking him whats wrong, and what happened, but he would always shut the conversation down or just plainly ignore you.

He even lashed out at you once, complaining and irritated by your nonstop questions. He even talked about how your constant presence annoyed him.

Those harsh words pierced your heart. You felt as if a blade was stabbed right through your chest.

Your mouth was left agape as you tried to form a word. Unfortunately, none came.

Tears started to pool in the corner of your eyes, threatening to spill any moment now.

Noticing the quietness, Rin glanced back behind him, catching sight of the state you were in.

As soon as his eyes came into contact with your figure, he couldn't help but let out a scoff, although feeling guilty inside.

“Honestly, seeing you like this is pathetic. You really are embarrassing.”

As if it couldn't get any worse, the tears that were building up finally let loose. As if water was breaking through a dam.

The tears kept falling. Showing no signs of stopping any time soon.

Your breath hitched as you tried to contain yourself. Although there was no reason in doing so as it was proved impossible right now. Your nose began to get all red and runny from the crying you were doing.

You hated this.

You hated how you let his words easily affect you.

Whether it was comforting, kind words or aggressive, and hurtful words like this, you would always take them to heart.

But who could blame you as you grew up with the kindest, most caring, sweetest boy? You always relied on him.

Everytime you needed advice or consolation, Rin was always the first person you would seek for.

It was hard to believe that he was now some cold, heartless jerk who couldn't give two shits about you now.

After a bit of time of your silent crying, Rin decided to speak.

“Ill be leaving now. I'm finally leaving this shithole of a neighborhood behind.”

“Rin…? W-what do you mean your leaving..?” you manage to mumble out as your curiosity and anxiety got the best of you, wanting to know where he's going.

Rin let out yet another small scoff as he talked.

“Do I need to repeat myself? I said what I said.” Rin harshly spoke.

Hearing his sharp tone made you wince, but you had to know where he was going. Was he leaving for good, going on vacation, or just taking a break?

“Are…are you leaving for good..?” you softly uttered as your tears managed to pause momentarily, hoping that wasn't the answer.

Rin let out an aggravated sigh as he turned his body to face you.

“Do you really think I would want to stay here in this lukewarm place any longer?”

There it was. That word ‘lukewarm’. He would always say it now ever since Sae came back.

He let out yet another sigh as he continued talking.

“I got accepted to some soccer program so ill be attending there. Then soon after ill be moving after. I never planned to stay here anyways.”

After hearing this, you couldn't help but feel a hint of anger.

He would be leaving? For good? After all these memories you both made…they’ll be forgotten just like that?

Your disbelief and irritation now took over your earlier saddened state.

Without thinking much, you couldn't help but let out an angered yet upset confession.

“So you’ll be leaving? Just like that? What about us?! What about our childhood memories we shared here?! Your just gonna discard all of that?”

Hearing your raised voice only served to further aggravate Rin. How dare you speak to him like that?

He glared down at you as his hands balled into fists, his knuckles slowly transitioning into a white, pale color from his intense grip.

“So what of it? Of course I'll be leaving it all behind. Your nothing but a nuisance to me. Always leeching off me, seeking for solace and attention! All those childhood memories were no other than some mere enjoyable experiences.” Rin retorted back as his teeth slightly clenched in fury.

Now this…this was the most hurtful thing he could have said to you. Did he always perceive you that way? Some leech?

His cruel words made your eyes widen in shock. How could he say such a thing? Did he never want to stay with you from the start?

No.

Its not that.

It was obvious that he enjoyed—no, cherished those old times back then. He loved hanging out with you, spending time with you, and doing activities with you. He kept it all in his heart.

So, how could he spit out those lies just now?

Was it Sae’s doing?

Maybe.

Was it stress from his soccer career?

Maybe.

Or was it really all you?

Maybe.

It hurt. It hurt a lot to hear and witness Rin acting this way toward you—perhaps even toward other people.

Does he even know how much his words and actions are affecting you? Probably not.

You slowly look back up at him as you begin to speak your mind. After all, all of this was just one big pile of bullshit.

“Do you really mean that? Do you really believe that all those childhood memories were just for enjoyment and satisfaction in your life? I find that hard to believe.” you muttered out as your eyes narrowed down at him, exposing all the emotions you were feeling at that moment.

Rin casted his gaze onto you once more as he analayzed your words.

The thing was that Rin never truly stopped caring about you.

All this fighting, arguing, and bickering was doing a big enough toll on him as it was for you.

He felt guilty and regretful for every harsh word he spat at you.

He couldn't help but hold Sae responsible for everything. Sae was the one who shaped him to become the way he is now.

In the beginning, Rin was unintentionally being unfriendly and distant to you right after his interaction with Sae. He felt bad afterwards and wanted to apologize, but for some reason, he couldn't.

He knew that you were shattering apart. He knew that he was causing you pain. He knew that he was the reason for your sorrow.

And that pained him; he never thought that he would be the reason why you were so upset and miserable, especially when he liked you.

He soon came to a decision to try to at least distance himself away from you as to not harm or hurt you any further.

But, it soon became a difficult challenge as you were always around him.

He wanted to break the act and admit to you how sorry he truly is but he couldn't.

He didn't want to see the hurt all over your face. Especially if he was the one causing it.

Since he couldn't bear to see the pain on your face, he decided to sever ties with you or try to push you away.

At this moment, he hoped you would back off after he told you he was leaving.

Rin’s gaze lingered on you a little more than necessary before he finally spoke.

“Y/n. What I said is true. I merely saw all this as an enjoyable experience. Why can't you understand that?” he said as his voice lacked any emotion.

You stared back at him feeling..—well you didn't know what you were feeling.

Was he really admitting what he felt about both of your guys time together?

So why?

Why did he choose to stay with you at that time when he only found it ‘enjoyable’ and ‘distracting’ but not something to cherish and treasure?

Well, you also couldn't mostly blame him. Whenever he tried to leave, you would always pull or hold him back.

“Do you really mean what you say? Is this what your feeling right now?” you spoke as your voice began to crack, revealing how hurt you truly are.

Rin took a good look at you.

He couldn't do this for any longer anymore.

The way your eyes looked so hurt and miserable made him feel such drastic pain in his heart.

If you had told his younger self that he would cause you this much pain, young Rin would have been in denial and thought it was a joke.

He can't believe that he was hurting you, especially when he swore he would always care and look after you.

But now, the only way to care and protect you was if you would finally let him go.

“Its how I feel Y/n. Its how I always felt.” he nonchalantly spoke as he forced himself to hold back his true emotions.

“Always…?” you softly mumbled as his words continued to echo in your head.

That was it. That was all you needed to hear as you finally began to accept it.

At that moment, you felt numb. You felt nothing, or to be exact, you felt everything. You just didn't know how to express it in that overwhelming moment.

But the signs? he didn't show any signs that he wanted to stop spending time with you.

Great… now you were in denial.

While having inner conflicts with yourself, you began to notice Rin’s presence fading away.

Breaking out if your trance and looking up, you saw Rin walking away.

‘Wait..’

‘Please wait..dont go yet..’

You wanted to say something, mutter something, yell something, but you couldn't.

The truth about his feelings for you was holding you back. You didn't want to burden him any further.

But now you regretted it.

As it would be the last time you would see him in a while.

I don't know if i can ever forgive antis for running so many artists off the internet because they found them gross. There are so many artists that come to mind but one that sticks with me the hardest is Columbo who was literally ran off Twitter for the most vile reason. I often see tiktok artists redraw that one Monster fanart of Johan and Nina that Columbo made. This was what pushed me to watch the anime in the first place and I get so sad when I remember what happened. They deliberately tried to ruin the artist's life and outed them knowing that this could get them killed. They wanted them DEAD over DRAWINGS. The length some would go to ruin someone's life is terrifying and so fucked up.

Don't even get me started on doxxing. At what point in your sorry little life do you decide to dig someone's private info and leak it to the whole world. And still claim to be more righteous than another ?

Not to mention those who harmed themselves or committed suicide because of harrassment.

I remember how a 13yo artist on twitter committed suicide because of the harrassment they faced (Not proship related). You know what those bastards did ? Went to their last post and filled it with nothing but mockery. They were editing the comic to make amogus jokes. A 13yo child.

I blocked and reported over 700 and yet there was still more. I've never felt so sick in my entire life. They had just gotten the confirmation that they pushed a child to suicide and their immediate reaction was to laugh about it. They killed a child and they laughed ?

This isn't even the first time this happened and I think that's pretty much what made me realize that antis (or just internet fiends in general) didn't actually give a shit about anyone else or the content that they "hate" in general, they just use it as an excuse to show how vile they truly are because what sane person would do that ? Moana 2 ⛵️: trailer looked great (the big sis lil sis moment??? AAAAA (Certified sibling dynamic enjoyer over here), animation is crisp and beautiful, story sounds interesting, LOVE Moana's redesign and that there are more characters for the journey! Only worries are the repetitive elements and no LMM, but I'll keep an open mind!

Zootopia 2 🐰🦊: we only got a few small details but I'm happy to see Ke Huy Quan in another movie, plus the few images we got really reminded me how I love that film! The one image of Nick and Judy radiates such energy

Toy Story 5 🧸: look, no one loves this series more than me, and no one is more terrified of this sucking. BUT. The tech plot line sounds promising. Just hope ruining 4's alltimer sad ending is done well, somehow

Incredibles 3🦸‍♂️: we just know it's happening. Please be better than 2. Please.

Maybe this sounds random, but on Tik Tok I saw a lot of people using AI to make their Arcane lookalike character, and I just wanted to say that if you do so you didn't understand anything this show offers.

The quality of Arcane comes obviously from a really good writing but also from the amazing  character designs, worldbuilding choices, scene composition and obviously animation; those are works that take a lot of fucking time to the amazing artists, animators and directors, and using a technology that actively threatens this working positions is not only disrespectful but also stupid. Actively feeding AI with the unique artstyle of arcane is first of all helping this abomination evolve into becoming even more precise in stealing and copying specifics artworks, and also it's teaching it how to replicate Arcane lookalike art pieces that could be used to mass produce merch or prints putting a profit in the pockets of the wrong people; not only that but since we live in a time where profits are basically the only interest to big companies, who can guarantee us that once the AI products are good enough they will not be used for the actual series and products. I know that right now it doesn't seem like a possibility for this franchise because it has given us a genuine and fantastic work of art, but seeing what is happening in the world of animation (thinking for exaple Disney pushing only corporations slabs such as live action remakes or souless films, Pixar employees given less and less creative liberty, DreamWorks Co founder Katzemberg basically declaring that animators can be replaced by AI, and all the strikes the animators in the USA are doing because of the inadequate salaries and threatens to their positions) it's not an impossible scenario, maybe the fact that the arcane/league animation projects are done by a studio based in France, [were because of EU regulations AI is more limited (kinda, but also not really lol)], can keep it safe for now, but I wouldn't be so sure about it in the future.

This is to say that there are real people in the animation industry wich are suffering the direct consequences of the capitalistic mentality of their executives, and the real threat of AI replacing their labor, you chosing to use this technology is only giving this capitalist machine free fuel.

Also it's insulting to the amazing visual work done in the show, the art of animation is finally taking a different path in big industries than the iperrealism of Disneys 3D backgrounds; let's think about Spiderverse by sony, or the lates Ninja Turtles by nickelodeon, or even better Nimona, finally there has been a path of experimentation with this form of art recognized by the general pubblic, and Arcane is yet another example of this new and diverse path. The characters flow in the scenes, everyone of them has a unique style of combat reflecting their personality, the use of color as symbols but also as enanchment of the scenes, the raw strokes and blurred edges, the use of light to convey the scenes depth, the character designs, the writing, it's a work of art, a humanmade work of art, not one done by some click on a computer and a prompt. This is a tipe of work that an AI should struggle to replicate, it easy for an artificial intelligence to remake a Disney 3D style, because it's clean, boring and all the same therefore it's easy for a company like that to start rely on this technology to feed us with all the more shit ass stories and all the same animations, let's not make it easy for an AI to replicate something like Arcane, let's not feed this machine great material to steal and reuse to take away work from the people who give us this masterpieces in the first place.

Without obviously starting the discourse about how harmful it is for the environment, but this post is already a chapter, so maybe another time.

Last thing is I saw a girl talking about the artstyle choices in the scene where Viktor and Jayce destroy the excore, where the excore products are all kinda fucked up and uncanny like something an AI could make, and then where the two of them fucking explode (rip to them I'll miss those gay boys) everything becomes more flat like a traditional human made drawing. So maybe the glorious evolution of mankind through AI it's a lot like how it's portraid in the show: souless, all the same, lacking personal freedom of choice and creativity, therefore if we put on our thinking caps maybe it's not the best path to go down. I dunno I just wanted to throw it out there because it fits a lot.

Tales of the empire trailer just dropped, what are your thoughts about it?

Personally I’m glad they are finally giving us some more backstory to Morgan Elsbeth’s character. She seemed pretty underdeveloped to me and it was annoying they never gave us anything new her character in the Ahsoka show.

I’m not surprised with them making Barriss into an inquisitor and I think that storyline could be really interesting. But I just have this feeling that they are doing these storylines in particular for the Ahsoka show, potentially making Barriss come back for season 2. Or just trying to make that show make sense.

I just answered someone else's ask on this HERE a little, but basically it just looks kinda boring and stupid.

I do not care about Morgan enough to be upset that she's being featured. She IS underdeveloped, but she's also super dead and her character can't GO anywhere so why should I care about her backstory? Why build up a character who's already been killed off? This is the kind of story that would've made sense to do BEFORE the Ahsoka show came out so that we understood that relationship with Thrawn and knew more about her life as a Nightsister, etc so that it could be at least a LITTLE emotional when she died. Also, we've seen this story in different variations twice now. We already saw Ventress deal with the fallout of the Nightsister genocide and go on to become a bounty hunter, and we've seen Merrin deal with the fallout of being what she believes is the last Nightsister survivor on Dathomir and joining up with Cal's crew and becoming someone who helps others as a result. Seeing yet ANOTHER Nightsister deal with the Nightsister genocide just feels redundant now and it's with a character that was already removed from the story as like a third tier villain AT BEST. Who cares.

And then there's Barriss. It's not SHOCKING she became an Inquisitor, but it's incredibly lazy. I don't trust Filoni within ten feet of Barriss given what he already did to her character. She already had her character assassinated, so this is just going to be rubbing salt into the wound he created back in TCW. Nothing about it is going to be good, and personally I would've preferred a story in something like TOTJ of Barriss RECLAIMING her Jedi values and escaping Order 66 and the Empire and slowly healing from what had happened to her and what she'd become and turning to her old Jedi training in order to get through it all and find peace.

It DOES feel like it's incredibly connected to the Ahsoka show, which sucks because wow do I not want Filoni to keep doing shit with Barriss, in animation OR live action, but it does feel like this could be foreshadowing for yet another cameo in the Favroni Cameoverse.

But like. Silver lining, at least they're not calling it a show about Jedi and it's just very overtly a show about villains this time I guess. So I can know to avoid the fuck out of it because I'm just vastly uninterested in seeing Filoni romanticize more villains and continue to ruin Barriss's character.

i did enjoy AU ekko adventure overall, it's just too bad there wasn't more episodes because the whole time i was like this is coming at the cost of the main plot/real cast. exploding heimer was gross. silco and vander were even more gay. i like that benzo got some scenes. AU powder/ekko was cute

also the moment heimer disintegrated was the moment i went oh. so there is no plot armour after all for the LoL mains. which i had not expected tbh, so that nicely ratcheted up the suspense for me

it's weird to me cloaked-viktor revealed himself immediately to jayce only to disappear for like...weeks? months? years? while jayce ate raw salamander to survive? like could y'all not have had this conversation sooner

while vi gets to do a little bit more this arc and has some cool moments she still gets the most shafted imo. like having AU powder be the one to monologue about why vi fights was just...i would like to hear this coming from vi herself? her fight with caitlyn took all of 30 seconds. zero acknowledgement of her months of alcoholism. even her final scene with cait just she just seemed very passive and there's no bridge between her being devastated at losing jinx and vander vs how okay she seems at cait's house (and where she is once again drinking)

MEL. mel was so good man. without her everyone would have been truly fucked. i love that she also out-played shapeshifty black rose person. if the spinoff happens and features noxus i hope we shall see her again

although idk where exactly she was when it shows her walking outside but did she have to like...walk back to piltover? how long did that take. what was the timeline here

tldr i still had an absolute blast with the series as a whole, animation throughout was unquestionably gorgeous, i just wish characters hadn't suffered so much from too short a runtime. now i just need someone to write fanfic of all the missing scenes i have in my head so that i don't have to thanks
